About Us
At Sophie's Driving Skool, we believe that learning to drive is not just about passing your test. You need to know how to drive in the real world! We want you to feel confident in all situations you may come across once you've passed.
When you're on a lesson with Sophie's Driving Skool, we'll not just take you on the test routes - you could find yourself driving anywhere in south-west Hertfordshire or north London, depending on your home location and we'll take you on different journeys every lesson.
When we take you on long journeys, we'll often let you take us back home by following road signs. This could be simple - or it might involve you having to check on a map! (Don't worry - we'll never take you to places which we're not familiar with so we'll always know where you are, even if you don't). And we'll always make sure you get us back on time.
With us, you'll drive a car that is fully insured and fitted with dual controls. To complement your learning we will also teach you:
- How to park in supermarket/multi-storey and shopping centre car parks
- How to control your car if you skid
- Coping with driving at high-speed roads up to the maximum 70mph speed limit
- Car maintenance basics, such as looking after tyre pressures, engine oil, windscreen washer - we'll even get you to fill up with petrol or diesel (don't worry, we'll pay for this!)
- Free access to the Driving Standards Agency's official books and DVDs to complement your theory learning
- You'll also be driving with your own music playing (this can be a great distraction you're not used to so, before you pass your test, you'll have your last few lessons with music - ours or yours).
